OpenVPN

I have tried to get my OpenVPN services to work…
I am not sure how to configure the firewall correct…usually when using VPN services
it is not needed at all to configure the firewall…

Anyway…the only way I could get OpenVPN to work with CIS 5 is when
check the “allow other network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection”
To me…it does sound risky ? or is everything as it should be ?

Even when I close CIS 5 before I did change the option above…it did not work…so it might not even be CIS related…

Would be glad if some one could explain…cause I want my VPN to be as safe as possible… or maybe it is necessary to check this option to get it to work in windows 7. Hard to find info about it.

I Have the same problem
Have to disable CIS firewall to get OpenVPN to connect to server , can enable it after connection and all still works fine.

I also did try Shields up, ( GRC | ShieldsUP! — Internet Vulnerability Profiling  )
and according the site many of my ports etc where not stealth, and I use CIS 5, safe mode…it does worry me…

I am not sure cause I have the option "“allow other network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection” in tcp tc/ip v4 settings advanced tab.
