On Windows 7 reboots: CIS Says "Could not be started"

I am running CIS version 6.3.302093.2976 on Windows 7 Pro.

Every time I restart Windows 7, CIS won’t start and gives an error “cannot be started”. It asks if I want to fix the problem and I click “Yes”. It then says there was no problem and starts successfully after that. This happens on every single reboot.

Anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?


Try reinstalling it by following the advice I give in this post. After reinstalling do not make any changes to the configuration. Then see if the same error message appears.

If it does don’t make any changes, but let me know. We’ll continue from there.
