On-access log files

I’ve read various command line threads and according to what I’ve read all downloads are automatically scanned as long as the on-access scanner is active. Well, that’s nice to hear; however,

I’ve yet to find proof anywhere that this has actually occured. There are no reports or log files generated that I can see. All logging is enabled & set to append. The reason I also ask is I traced the Universa virus or malware? specifically back to a download.

Is there a way to enable specific logging for all download files or would it just be simpler to run everything through the command-line version in order to get logging?

Hi and welcome,

Only detected viruses will show on the access logs, not a log of everything. If you like you can download the ‘test virus’ called eicar to see how CAVS resonds.

Note: This is not a real virus
