Notepad, Wordpad, and even others trying to access the 'net thru Comodo

I’ve been having quite of few of these comodo PUs lately and if I deny these access to the internet while surfing, then I lose connection with the internet. This happens when surfing and wordpad, notepad, etc. are open as well as the browser. Also if I deny these, these PUs continue, even after closing and restarting FX and won’t stop until I shutdown and restart windows. I’m not going to post the screenshot as they usually appear distorted on this forum, but I’ve included an imageshack link to the comodo PU. This screen shot was taken on a widescreen LCD, and I’ve viewed on a regular LCD and it appears normal, but if the text appears distorted, I apologize. Is there a way to copy/paste the text from these Comodo notifications to notepad or wordpad? thx. http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/5519/wordpadthrufxtonetacceskb9.jpg

Hi jrx10

This is CFP working as it should. If that had been a malicious application trying to access the internet it would have been caught. Firefox should not be denied access when an application you know is safe is trying to access the internet or you will lose your connection until a reboot. I do not think wordpad or notebook will try to access the net directly but if they do you can stop them with an application rule in network security policy under firewall/advanced as I did for explorer exe. See my screenshot.

You can use Faststone Capture to send screenshots with your posts. That is what I am using here

[Edit]
Sorry I posted for version 3. I have both versions and will post the right one when I boot up my 2.4 machine. John

Are you using version the latest 2.4 version?
Comodo 2.3.x had many false alarms regarding OLE alerts.

Here is where you can stop your apps from accessing the internet. The application is Firefox and the parent in the screenshot is windows explorer. You can make all the changes that you wish.

John

sorry for the double screenshot
