Not issued by a trusted certificate authority

SSL with Comodo certificate worked perfectly on client server until last month, when the server config files were inadvertently over-written. Now client website is throwing off security alert messages to new visitors on the secure pages.

These messages all relate to the certificate chain somehow and are likely a result of how the server config files were restored last month – prior to that time, the alerts were not showing up.

Messages are as follows:

Internet Explorer 7 says “The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority,” while IE6 says “The security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust…”

Safari says “The certificate for this website was signed by an unknown certifying authority…” and Opera says “The server’s certificate chain is incomplete, and the signer(s) are not registered.”

What do we do to get this working okay again?

Hi,

Sounds like you have the wrong intermediate files, or are pointing at the wrong ones in the config files.

Please checkout the installation instructions on http://support.comodo.com

If you still have an issue after following the installation instructions for the intermediate certificates please submit a ticket at the same URL.
