I have a query on the EV MDC SSL.

Can it be used on https://example.com or does it need to have a subdomain. i.e. https://www.example.com?

James, multi-domain certificates are explicit. If you don’t have www.example.com as a SAN or the CN, your cert will not work for that site. It will only work for those sites you have explicitly listed.
