Non-English characters don't register in location bar

For the past three or four days, when I type a search word into the location bar’s Google search, all non-English characters are replaced with question marks. For example, searching for anything in my home town of Tranås becomes a search for Tran?s and all the results are for “trans-” things. There must have been a software update? Can you fix this?

  • How you produced the problem: I entered a search word in the location bar and hit Enter.
  • How you tried to resolve the problem: The only resolution is to enter the search word in Google.com
