no mouse no keyboard is hard work

Yo … I … I think … yea I feel fckd.

On another computer I installed Windows 7 with CIS, later on I activated HIPS.
Today I activated the paranoid level while installing and configurating and testing other things. To play a game I just swaped mouse and keyboard for higher performance equipment and so COMODO HIPS popped up and asks for permisson of newdev.dll.

of course, so …

Did I just kill this whole system?
(I don’t think I have any backup and I never use system recovery)
What can I do now?

I’m not sure I see what the problem is.

If somehow the DLL was blocked and is needed by the new keyboard/mouse I would do one of two things:

[ol]- Swap over the old keyboard and mouse that worked, make my CIS changes to unblock the DLL, and swap back again, or

  • Enter Windows in safe mode (so CIS is not loaded), make my CIS changes to unblock the DLL, and swap back again[/ol]
