I just recently noticed that I am missing a number of D+ rules for applications that are automatically started after a system boot or after logging on. I do not recall if this was the case in the past. I have applications that are launched from the following keys:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Some of them do not have D+ rules created for them unless I manually start them from the run box, cmd prompt, etc. This does not seem right and I am trying to decide if this is a bug or not.
An example of this is the Symantec Antivirus system tray program. No rule is created for it during autostart. Only after selecting Symantec Antivirus from the system tray do I get the D+ is learning bubble at which time the rule is created.
An example of this is the TClockEx program. No rule is created for it during autostart. Only after starting TClockEx manually do I get the D+ is learning bubble at which time the rule is created.
Autoruns is your friend for seeing what applications are starting automatically on your system.
