Most forum pages are blank with the new forum software, even when Firefox is run in Safe Mode, making the forum useless.
Hi Someone Else,
Is this issue present with other browsers?
Try clearing you browsing data/history etc.
Kind regards.
How did you know that the one thing I had not tried was clearing the Firefox cache, which, in the continuing saga of worldwide conspiracies to further confuse everything, was the simple cure to the apparent, and terribly strange failure of most of the Comodo forum pages to appear, which failure was, of course, part of whichever conspiracy it was that was–oh, dear, this is getting circular. Suffice it to say that, yes, it was nothing more than a cache problem, which did not (obviously) occur to me.
Hi Someone Else,
I am glad that solved the issue. :-TU
Just a logical guess.
If the the browser tried loading portions of the page from the cache using the previous SMF version and it didn’t correspond with the new version, the result would be a page load malfunction.
Kind regards.
That was what I, too, surmised. That it did not occur to me to empty the cache is due to my very rarely finding a need to do so; I know that this is a standard thing to try, but I doubt if I have done so more than perhaps once this year. This episode is, as far as I can recollect, the very first time that I have encountered such a problem with new forum software, all previous instances of new software simply continuing to work.
