Network Security Policy Crash

I am using CFP 3.0.25.378.

When I click on Firewall | Advanced | Network Security Policy, CFP crashes. How can I solve the problem?

Frederick

The first thing that I thought of is to reinstall CFP3…

What other security apps do you have running?
Also, you could try Miscellaneous > Diagnostics (its worth a try)

Before you change anything i would export my settings to a file using int Misc, Manage my configurations.
Or do a regexport using:

reg export “HKLM\System\Software\Comodo\Firewall Pro” c:some foldersome name.reg

What mode is the Firewall security setting running ?
Can you remember if there was anything strange before this happened ?

I have Webroot’s Spy Sweeper and Avast Anti-Virus running as well. I’ll try the diagnostics as well.

OK, thanks for the tip.

The firewall is running in Safe PC mode.

Nothing strange was happening. Even before I was connected to the Internet and after starting the PC, I click on the Firewall | Advanced | Network Security Policy and it still crashed. The weird thing is I had previously had an earlier version of CFP 3 running fine and I uninstalled it to reinstall the latest version.

This was the first thing I thought to do but I had only installed the latest version of CFP 3 yesterday after running the previous version of CFP 3 for about 6 months now.

Ok. Well, maybe you could see if it crashes when in safe mode, (boot and press F8 I think, please correct me if I’m wrong {F8 may be for choosing whether to boot up on the HD or a CD}). If it doesn’t crash in safe mode, it is probably a program making it crash.

Don’t know if you have regedit skills but if so please try this.
Let it crash, check if cfp.exe is unloaded open regedit and go to:
HKLM\System\Software\Comodo\Firewall Pro\Configurations

Look for the REG_DWORD Active, if it’s not there it’s safe to create and put a decimal 1 in it,
This will change your firewall profile to the “second” policy.

Caution use regedit carefully !!

Now reboot and see if it still crashes, if so there is a need for reinstall if not the problem is a corrupt policy “0”.
