Network monitor default settings

Hello. Im using CF 2.4 and I have questions.

Today in the morning, when I turned on my PC, my internet connection was not working. The reason was that in my CF Network Monitor settings, first rule was blocking it.
ALLOW TCP/UDP FROM IP 0.0.0.0 TO IP ANY WHERE ports any/any

I belive this is default, because as far as I know IP 0.0.0.0 stands for all IPs on current PC. However, as I said, my internet was not working until I changed it either to
FROM IP ANY
or
FROM IP [my current IP, that I get from ISP]

So my questions is:

  1. Is
    ALLOW TCP/UDP FROM IP 0.0.0.0 TO IP ANY WHERE ports any/any
    is default, rule, and if so, why my connection was not working?

  2. If its not default, why, anyway, this rule was blocking connection?

Thank you.

Here are the rules that are automatically created by CFP during the installation.

Rule #0
Action = Allow
Protocol = TCP or UDP
Direction = Out
Source IP = Any
Destination IP = Any
Source Port = Any
Destination Port = Any

Rule #1
Action = Allow
Protocol = ICMP
Direction = Out
Source IP = Any
Destination IP = Any
ICMP Details = ICMP Echo Request

Rule #2
Action = Allow
Protocol = ICMP
Direction = In
Source IP = Any
Destination IP = Any
ICMP Details = ICMP Fragmentation Needed

Rule #3
Action = Allow
Protocol = ICMP
Direction = In
Source IP = Any
Destination IP = Any
ICMP Details = ICMP Time Exceeded

Rule #4
Action = Allow
Protocol = IP
Direction = Out
Source IP = Any
Destination IP = Any
IP Details = GRE

Rule #5
Action = Block (create an alert if this rule is fired)
Protocol = IP
Direction = In/Out
Source IP = Any
Destination IP = Any
IP Details = Any

I am not sure why your first network rule has been modified but if you change the rules to match the above defaults you should be ok. Let us know if this happens again.

Thanks, N.T.T.W.

■■■■, how could that changed ? Could it be because of Winpooch that guarding my COMODO registry settings ? Of course I allowed cmdagent process to access registry … but anyway…
