Need help with network detection issue

I just installed Comodo. When it starts for the first time, it detects new network, and lists my network card address as the new network. Is this what it should find?, or should it display the ip address for my dsl modem. It is the DHCP. I installed on two other machines in the network, and it listed their respective ip addresses as well. Sorry if this is a dumb question, any help would be appreciated.

Using 192.168.1.1 as an example, in a typical environment, the alert will display “192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0”. This mean it has detected a network card withthe address of 192.168.1.1 and it assumes that this PC is part of a network using the 192.168.1.X subnet.

Accepting this alert means this PC can communicate with other PCs in the same subnet. The alert should be accepted on all PCs on the same LAN running CIS.

Hope this helps,

It does, thanks.

I wasn’t sure if I should be adding the ip address of the router to the network instead of the one CIS was finding.

Thanks again.

I should have explained one thing - the 255.255.255.0 bit is the netmask and, in laymans terms, means “include any other PCs with the same subnet address (192.168.1.x)”.
