With information like this I always wonder whether it is true or some company is trying to sell more (security) products…

I agree user4… I also find these figures a little suspect and/or hard to believe. However, I did notice that wording from Sophos is different from that of the covering article in one significant way… InformationWeek says “Web sites” where as Sophos says “Web pages”.
According to Sophos, researchers are finding 29,700 new infected Web pages every day, and 80% of them are legitimate sites that have been compromised.
A web page is not a web site… a single web site could contain hundreds of pages. But, still the statement that 80% are legitimate sites (pages?) that have been compromised is indeed startling.
I think it’s more likely 30,000 PAGES and not SITES. Anyways it’s not good, but thanks to Comodo I don’t have to worry about it (L)
Ohh look…
