I don’t have Comodo installed on my PC. Peerblock reports that it constantly intercepts some attempts to contact 178.255.83.1, which I believe is for Comodo. Any thoughts as to what on my PC is trying to contact your web site?
I have Avira anti-virus.
Perhaps you have some other products that got installed at the factory on my PC?

I had this happen with an uninstall before. Installed Outpost Firewall and CIS was asking for internet access. At this point I would reinstall and then uninstall again. That could help ? There is a Comodo cleaning tool - maybe someone could post the link ?

Are you saying you have never had a Comodo product installed ? Then it must be something related to a digital certificate verification.

That address is used for OCSP, so yes, it is certificate related.
