My Own Safe Files vs Trusted Applications

Vista Ultimate + CIS (free version) v4.1.150349.920

I am trying to understand the difference between adding a file to the list of My Own Safe Files vs adding the same file as a Trusted Application under Defense+ → Advanced → Computer Security Policy??

I think that a “Safe” file is automatically let through the firewall whereas a “Trusted” file is not - can anyone else confirm this behaviour??

What other differences (if any) are there??

Many thanks

a little difference

my own safe files can learn rules

What does this mean?? Could you give me an example??

Many thanks.

Please see my other post for a reply.
