I have a message saying that Defense+ is not functioning properly - this was after an update that installed 5.0.163652.1142. Diagnostics says nothing is wrong. I cannot find anything that would indicate what the problem is. WinXP SP3 latest updates. This may have only occurred after the last XP update from Microsoft yesterday but I can’t be positive.
First question. Is this a help request and not a bug report?
Are cmdagent.exe and cfp.exe running? Check with Task Manager and make sure it is showing processes of all users.
Are there other security programs running in the background? Try disabling them. Does that change things
This can happen if you use fast user switching - did you do this?
If so a normal log-in and log out will fix. Tis is an already reported issue
