OK, I’ve spent a lot of time spinning my wheels.
I want to be able to back up all my data to DVD once per month, and do differential unattended backups daily. I’ve been doing this for a number of years with a little known utility called “ZIP Backup to CD”. Worked fine, but doesn’t work on my new Windows 7 64 bit laptop.
I’ve read a lot of good reviews on Comodo Backup, so I’m trying to get it to work “as advertised”. Here are my problem:
- Doesn’t see my DVD drive (D:)
- Doesn’t seem to let me combine folders, user settings, or mail account backups in a single job, e.g. when I select user settings, all my folder selections disappear.
- When I select “simple copy”, the “split backup” is grayed out. Actually I would prefer to back up in ZIP format so I can easily retrieve individual files if necessary. On rare occasion this capability has come in very handy.
- Doesn’t let me change destinations from Comodo online storage (perhaps a result of items 1 and 3 above?)
I would like this to run daily, automatically, unattended, like my old utility did.
Am I asking too much, or am I missing something basic here?
