Malware or Virus?

Howdy y’all,

I just installed Comodo for the first time and upon rebooting my system I received a virus/malware noticed that Comodo was unable to repair, quarantine or delete the following:

  • TrojWare.Win32.Agent.~N14@100829359
  • Located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\MPEG-2\mpeg-2 splitter.dll

How do I remove it or is this a false positive?

Please upload the file in question to VirusTotal and post a link to the results so we can determine if it’s malicious or not.

However, in general you can check this sort of thing yourself by following the methods I’ve described here.

The file cannot be uploaded, copied, renamed, moved or deleted.
It is not listed as read-only or hidden in its properties.

Do a scan with MBAM and report back if it found anything.

Did a full system scan with MBAM. 0 viruses/malware.

Can you also do a scan with Hitman Pro. Just either disable scanning for tracking cookies or ignore those results. They aren’t important.

Also, which OS are you using?
