I have just changed from ZoneAlarm to the latest Comodo as my firewall and have lost some icons from the system tray/notification area. I am running XP pro with AVG Anti Virus. The AVG icon and the icons for two programs that start from the Programs>Startup folder are the icons that are missing. The programs are running and to get the icons to show in the system tray I have to stop the programs in the Task Manager and then restart them.
If I uninstall Comodo the icons are back. Re-install Comodo and the the icons are gone.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to fix it?
Sounds very odd. I have both XP Pro and AVG running together and both AVG/Comodo icons show correctly as can be seen in the pix.

For anyone following this thread I have found the solution.
Turn off your Anti-Virus before installing Comodo Firewall.
It fixed it for me.
It’s always a good idea to install and uninstall security software in SafeMode, so as to avoid conflicts with other security software during that process. This becomes more important as security software are being installed deeper into the core of the OS.
I’ll mark the thread as resolved and close it. If you need it reopened, barberic, just PM a Moderator (please include a link back here) and we’ll be glad to do so.
