Loopback Zone

I have a question and my question is: are you supposed to trust the Loopback Zone? I’m curious and the Firewall version I’m using is: 3.0.18.493
Any ideas? My Operatiing System is Windows Xp Home Service pack 2 and I have Boclean and Avast antivirus. i’m running Comodo Memory Guardian and I’m logged in as a admin.

The Loopback Zone is the IP address space 127.0.0.0/8. It is, by definition, your own machine. Back in the day (like 20-30 years ago), it was the means by which processes running on one machine could talk to each other. That capability is still used today, particularly for proxy services like email spam and virus filters. So, yes, you should trust the Loopback Zone of 127.0.0.0/8.

Thank you and I wasn’t sure about that. (R)
