Linking two computers

I have a new computer, and installed CIS4. On 2 other computers I have CIS3.X. On the computers with CIS3.X I can access the two computers, in either direction (e.g. \computer\shared in windows explorer). But for the life of me, I can’t recall what I did to allow it. My preference would allow by IP address (using a range) as primary, and secondary with MAC address.

Can anyone help me?

I figured it out------>

  • RIGHT CLICK ON TASK BAR ICON
  • CLICK ON FIREWALL
  • CLICK ON ADVANCED
  • CLICK ON NETWORK SECURITY POLICY
  • CLICK ON APPLICATION RULES
  • CLICK ON GLOBAL RULES
  • CLICK ADD
  • MAKE SURE THIS ISN’T LOGGED
  • ACTION: ALLOW
  • PROTOCOL: TCP OR UDP
  • DIRECTION: IN/OUT
  • PUT IN DESCRIPTION
  • SOURCE ADDRESS->IP RANGE->192.168.1.100/192.168.1.110
  • CHECK ACCESS

Well done.:-TU
