Latest Update Detected as Trojan by McAfee

I tried the “GeekBuddy” chat and was asked to post this in the forums, so here goes…

I launched Comodo Dragon this evening (v. 12.2) and received the prompt that there was a Comodo Dragon update and did I want to download it. It was the same type of standard prompt as in the past when a browser update was available. When I clicked Yes to download and the download started, McAfee VirusScan detected it as a trojan or other malware (generic dropper, if I recall correctly) and immediately deleted it before the download could finish.

Then I went to the Comodo website and manually downloaded the new version. This version was not detected as a trojan/virus/malware.

It seems strange that one version (autoupdate) was detected as a trojan/malware and one version (manual download) was not.

Just posting this in case anyone else runs into the same issue. I haven’t yet installed the new version, but am planning to shortly. Hope all goes well…

check that trojan file in virustotal…

Please submit that to McAfee as false positive so they can fix it.
