Because it kept on blocking ports. And it made my browser slow as. (Over the last week).
I also noticed that it screws the Windowsupdate site up.
It kept on bringing up the 800700EE2 error I think it was, which means misconfigured proxy (I dont use proxies), or firewall (Comodo).
Even tho I had unticked the 2 options under Advanced (cant remember what theyre called now, but these 2 options were the main culprits). Uninstall Comodo Windowupdate site works fine.
Comodo is good (the previous 2.x release version), but IMO its too tight.
And blocks ports, even tho you’ve given access to whatever program.
It doesnt matter whether the security is low or high. Even on high, if u allow all ports for whatever program, if u put it back to low. It removes all the ports. This needs to be fixed.
Hopefully, v3 will be a bit better, than the last release v2.xx. When it (v3) comes out, I’ll install it and see if its hopefully any better.
Hey Speedy Gonzales
For Windows Update to work, you must allow svchost.exe to access Internet.
And it shouldn’t block ports if you allowed the program to connect to them, and I haven’t noticed any slowdown myself.
Hopefully you’ll return to Comodo when CPF 3 is released, it seems to have a very interesting HIPS, so I recommend you to download it when it’s avaliable ;D

Hi,
To solve windows update issue you may need to add two rules in the network monitor. This is common among all firewalls:
Allow Specific URLs
Mike
So why did it work before and just start blocking it now??
I think I’ll wait for V3. Comodo 2.xx just blocks too many ports, to too many programs.
Hopefully V3 is easier to configure for programs llike Mirc DCC, instead of having to add 7-8 ports to the Network Monitor, just to get DCC to work. After you’ve already given access to whatever program
I did give access to everything I ran. Made no diff to Comodo, for some things.
First time I’ve heard of adding Windowsupdate to a firewall till now. I’ve never had to do it before with any firewall.
