It appears that CIS 3.10.XXX.530 has caused DOS program not to run

Good Morning:
I really need “urgent” help on the matter below.

I updated from 3.9.XXX.509 to the latest build. I thought everything was OK. However, when I began working on a DOS based database manager called Q&A earlier this morning, I got the error shown in the attachment below. I thought I had read a post in the forum within the last couple of days of another user indicating that DOS programs were not working after installing 3.10.

It is urgent that I get Q&A back up and running ASAP. My job depends on it.

Please let me know what I can do within 3.10 to correct this matter, or please refer me to where I can download 3.9.XXXX.509 so that I can get back up and running again.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

An issue hss been identified with certain DOS based applications. A fix will be available later this week.

you could try this for now"

It seems we have a bug with 16 bit applicaitons. We will fix this issue this week. Until we fix it, a temporary fix would be renaming guard32.dll in c:\windows\system32\guard32.dll to something else and restarting your computer. When we update CIS, you can restore it back.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for the very prompt reply. Renaming Guard32.dll did the trick. I was notified a few minutes ago about an update to CIS. The version is 5.10.102194.530, is this update a fix for the problem with running 16-bit applications?

Thanks again for your help. You guys were a life saver. -SA Jack
