When I looked at the firewall log, it listed “System Idle Process” is sending message to an external IP address. Is that normal?
“System Idle Process” represents routed/applicationless traffic. Btw, “System Idle Process” was renamed to “Windows Operating System” beginning with version 3.0.14.
The System Idle Process is a part of your OS (therefore it got renamed to Windows Operating System so people wouldn’t get confused about the System Idle Process).
If you open task manager, it’ll be located at the bottom by default. And don’t worry about it “eating” almost your CPU. It’s not. Actually that’s the CPU that’s not being used
