Is it worth the effort keeping vendor list updated?

I am going to reformulate the question here.

  1. Does it make sense to keep the vendor list updated?
  2. Is it made automatically by CIS 5.10?
    2.1 If not: is it correct (after stopping cmdagent.exe and cfp.exe) to substitute 5.10’s “vendor. h & vendor.n files” with the same ones coming from 6.2 installation?

The news/feedback thread is not the place for asking questions so i moved this to the help section.

When I was using 5.12, I copied the TVL files from 6.2 and used them since they were updated. Everything seemed to work fine with the newer files in place.

Also, if I remember correctly, if you delete the TVL files in 5.10 and then check for updates in CIS, I think CIS will download the newer files to replace the missing ones.
