Is Comodo blocking my yahoo games

Since I started using Comodo I cannot get into my yahoo games. I comes up with a java problem and tells me to enable it. However, Java is enabled. I’ve even re-installed. I’m pretty sure Comodo denied it when it was ‘learning’ - I don’t know, I don’t understand how Comodo works and cannot even see anything in it as to where Yahoo Games is denied or whatever. All I want to do is play marjong.

I use AVG and my browser is Firefox. I am windows 7 home premium.

Which version of CIS are you using?

Also, can you please post a screenshot of the list of unknown files?

Thanks.

5.12.256249.2599

what are those files and where can i find them?

thanks a lot

I’m actually using V 6.1, so I’m trying to remember how 5.12 was set up. Does the main screen for CIS show that there are any files which will be sandboxed? I believe this was one piece of information which was shown for V 5.12.

Chiron is referring to Unrecognised Files list.

Can you also post a screenshot of the D+ logs? They are under View Defense + Events.

there are no sandboxed files

att is s/shot of d+ events

there are no files in 'Unrecognised Files list.

tks

Thank you for the screenshots. Can you post a screenshot of the Defense + Rules?

I see you have D+ in Training Mode. That means that CFP will allow everything including malware if it would hit your system. We don’t recommend Training Mode to run for long hauls of time; only shortly when dealing with tricky situations. I suggest you change it to Safe Mode.

Since your system is running in Training Mode the Java problem makes little sense unless custom rules are interfering. I am now inclined to look to AVG. Can you temporarily disable it and see if that makes a difference? Can you also check the AVG logs to see if it reports blocking Java on web sites?

Thanks, I’ve set D+ to ‘safe mode’

Here’s D+ rules file.

Where can I find AVG logs?

are these the avg logs? if so, how do i read them?

I am not familiar with the latest AVG so I will leave that angle for the moment.

Can you remove the rules for javaw.exe, firefox.exe and plugin-container.exe and see what happens? When that does not help try adding the CFP installation folders to the exceptions of AVG to make sure that AVG is not touching CFP executables.

pls confirm screen shot are the 3 rules to remove:

when i remove these 3 rules, i should try yahoo games again, yes? if games still wont work, do i put these 3 rules back on before i try the CFP folder thing? (not sure how to put back on - do I just re-type exactly as per the screen shot or is there another way?) (what does ‘removing’ them actually do so far as using my pc is concerned?)

where will i find the CFP folders?

Those are the ones.

CIS will make new rules for them automatically (I think they are all trusted).
where will i find the CFP folders?
Comodo Firewall installs by default in the Program Files folder. That's where you will find them unless you installed them in another location.

A different angle to try.
When installing CFP you may also have agreed to use the Comod Secure DNS servers. To see if this is the case this follow the instructions on this page to get to the settings window. I want to know what the settings show (that is the last picture of that page). Is Windows set to automatically obtain the DNS servers or is it set to “Use the following DNS server addresses”?

When Windows is set to “Use the following DNS server addresses” change it to automatically obtain DNS server addresses. Then try going to Yahoo Games again.
