Is cmdagent.exe a virus

Well were do i start?
I have now been using CIS Product Version 5.3.181415.1237 Virus Signature Database Version 8036 auto updating of CIS for 6 months.
I have 3 internal harddisk 25Gig,75Gig,37Gig and 1 USB external 1000Gig. I split the weekly scheduled scans with the 3 internal hd’s as one and the 1 ext HD as the other. Well the the scans take to long. I am running this on a pentium 4 cpu 2.8 with a gig of memory.
Now I have just stop a long scan that was scheduled for the 3 HD’s, the scan has not official stopped. The cpu usage in Task Manager is at 99% for the last 20 mins. The Scan Dialog “Duration” clock keeps ticking. The buttons for “Pause” and “Stop Scan” are grayed out. When will it Stop? I will now attempt to stop the scan by pressing the cross button in the top far right corner to see what this does. Now I get another Dialog asking “Are you sure you want to stop the scanning?” I had this Dialog before when I pressed “Stop Scan” button. I will now press “Yes”. Scan is still running!!! No “Pause” button, cmdagent.exe usage of cpu 99%. I now have access to the “Stop Scan” button. I will press it now. I get the same Dialog asking me the same question again. I will now press “Yes”. The Scan is still running.
ANYONE SEE A PROBLEM HERE?
Comodo’s virus scanner cannot cope with large harddrive scans or even large directories of files. The cpu usage for the cmdagent.exe seems to goto 99% and when you try to regain control it well not let you breakout of it process.
I did a large move of files on a source directory and that was even worse. The cmdagent got stuck on one particular file and I ended up rebooting because the comptuer system had frozen.

Now I find that this textarea in your new topic will not move down with a large text input.
What else can go wrong???

We would very much appreciate it if you would edit your first post to create an issue report in line with the bug forum guidelines and format here. You can copy and paste the format from this topic.

To understand the reasons why we ask you to follow these guidelines please see below.

WHY WE ASK YOU TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES
Bugs/issues can be impossible or very time consuming to fix if developers don’t have enough information to reproduce them. Since CIS is free, development time is limited. So if you want your issue fixed, please use the format below to describe it.

To avoid clutter, issues not described in the format below your post will not be moved to the ‘moderator verified’ issues topic. This means that the developers may not look at it.

Best wishes and many thanks in anticipation

Dennis

We really would very much appreciate it if you would edit your first post to create an issue report in line with the bug forum guidelines and format. You can copy and paste the format from this topic.

Thank you

Dennis

Unfortunately we do need this issue to be reported in the full right format, and with all the information we have asked for, if we are to forward it to verified issues.

For the moment I am going to move it to the Orphaned/Resolved child board. If you do edit your post to create a complete issue report in standard format, and PM an active mod, we will of course consider moving it to verified reports.

The devs only look at the Orphaned/Resolved board if they have time, so please do edit the post and PM an active mod if you want it fixed.
