Is BlackIce better then CPF? [Closed]

Well Is it? because I"ve been hearing few things about BlackIce http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec_Main.Entry17C?SID=26412&SP=10023&CID=117016&PID=253470&PN=1&V1=253470&CUR=840&DSP=&PGRP=0&ABCODE=&CACHE_ID=117016

I’ve bookmarked this thread, i’ll be very interested to hear other peoples views on this. :THNK

nuff said: http://www.matousec.com/projects/windows-personal-firewall-analysis/results.php

and that was on the older versions

And the most recent leak-test results :

Greetz, Red.

BlackIce implements the least hooks of the ones reviewed by Matousec, which makes its performance greater, but at the same time it means less security.

BlackIce rates poorly compared to other firewalls out there. It’s considered to be a lightweight firewall and hasn’t really changed much in a while. My personal opinion is to go for one the top 5.

It’s also being discontinued.

BlackICE will no longer be sold after September 19, 2007 and will not be supported after September 29, 2008.

This is mentioned in their FAQ area-

It has improved slightly since being incorporated into IBM’s ISS product, but it still lags behind several (many ;)) others.

loool, this topic title is pure irony ;D ;D ;D

Black Ice is a relic, like a dinosaur, maybe it deserves a little respect due to its longevity
but thats all. Comodo is present and future, Black Ice is past.

It seems that it’s no longer a matter of opinion whether BI is a thing of the past:

:o

Its inferior. First off its being discontinued. Second of all the outbound (which i dont hold as much to heart as inbound) isnt that good. Third the inbound isnt that good regardless of the built in HIPS.

Think it’s safe to close this topic as it seems exhausted

agrreeed. It’s not nice to keep beating a dying product/company.
