Internet Information Server and SQL Server 2005 server configuration for local

Hi all,

I would like to know how best to configure the following development servers to only allow server access for the machine on which they reside (my home pc, where they are also installed).

I have the following:

  1. Internet Information Server
  2. SQL Server 2005
  3. Apache

The SQL components seem to have representations in applications, but the IIS is a mystery.

I can’t figure out which components do what.

How do I safely configure these never to allow connections from outside my PC?

If I create a network rule that forbids inbound connections, can I tweak application rules to permit connections for certain apps? Or do I have rule order backwards?
