I have an odd problem since months that the Internet gets blocked (all connections stop and re-dial-up not possible until comp restart) after downloading about 1-2GB via FTP, HTTP or P2P. My guess is that it is comodo, since no other Internet, security or system programs changed in that time.
Anyone experienced something similar?
Comp:
No router, just a DSL modem with dial-up.
WinXP Sp2, comodo 3.0.24.368
You mean your on DSL. If your on DSL there is no dialing up. Comodo doesn’t have a web shield and does not stop downloads or shut off connections. I download ti=ons of stuff all the time. So what your saying is you lose your internet connection correct? Maybe its your modem. My 2 Wire Gateway use to lose my connections till I got a new one.I doubt Comodo is causing your problem cause if you can connect and download then Comodo is working.
Yes, I mean connecting, not the old dial-up, but I do not know how to translate it properly. I think it is called remote data transmission in English.
Anyway I use a laptop with the same modem now and then and do not have these issues.
I am just asking if someone had a similar problem, and chances are that a solution could be found since the problem is so odd. If nobody had such a problem, I’ll just format c:
Formatting is not the right answer. I dont think its your pc or software. When you cannot connect what are your modem lights doing? If they are red or missing then its your mdoem or ISP. If your modem is working and you can connect with another pc though the same mode then the pc that cannot connect has a problem. Do not reformat for something like this.
That’s a good idea with the lights, since I would be then 100% sure. I never checked the modem, since it is in another room. It might take some time, until the problem occurs again, so I’ll check back in a few days I guess.^^
thx Vettetech :-TU
Your welcome. So when the problem occurs quickly look at your modem. Most likely your losing your connection.
