internal wireless network blocked

I have 2 machines on my internal wireless network when they are set to allow all th can communicate with each other. If I set them to custom they can no longer communicate. I have set up an allow rule for the entire extext of my internal wirelessIP range of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.255. Even with this allow rule my computers can’t even ping each other. Is there something else I need to do? Both machines are windows xp w/sp2 machines.

I have mine configured in the network monitor,

Permision = allow
Protocol = tcp/udp
Source = 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.101 example
Destination = any
Source port = 445
Destination port = 139

Again delete any blocked rules you can always accept or deny them later. When things don’t work right.

IMO

Is Ping being blocked at the firewalls? Check your logs for anything being blocked.

Typically what you will want to do is go to security/tasks/add a zone. Set the IP range (start/finish) to include the computers (and other shared resources such as networked printer) that need to communicate.

Then go to security/tasks/define a new trusted network; use the zone you just added.

This will place two rules at the top of Network Monitor (rules ID 0 & 1) to allow all traffic to/from that zone. That way they can talk, ping, etc without any problems.
