Hi,
Downloaded the latest 6.2.xxx version of the firewall. I have had this problem before with this version, so I made a restore point thankfully.
Firstly I missed the “custom install”, so had lots of unwanted Comodo programs try to install like GeekBuddy and your browser. This is a new Asus G75VW laptop Win7 Home Pro with all the updates. Security is MS Security essentials and nothing else. There is nothing exotic on here at all other than Real Downloader. IE10 is set to check it is always the default browser.
BSD on any attempt to install and it is repeatable (non-paged area fault).
Finding the option for custom install, I installed just the firewall with no problems whatsoever.
Then I found Eraser would not work and I could no longer add to, modify or tidy up my start menu items. I had to disable virtually every group of protected files and setting and disabled HIPS as well while I was at it.
Why have you made a simple firewall almost impossible to use now? I understand greater security, but making my computer crash and then preventing me from using it myself is more than security.
I wonder how many users are going to go back to ZoneAlarm (or similar) as they find out the mysterious problems they are having after installing the firewall / update all trace back to this?
After reading through your first post it appears that the real bug you have encountered is the BSOD upon installation. Is this correct?
If so please edit your first post so that it is in the format provided in this post. Also, please ensure that your system is set to make a full kernal dump upon BSOD. Then, replicate this issue so that it BSOD again. Then, upload that dump file to a file sharing site, such as this one, and include the download link in your report.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks.
I will now move this to the Non-Format Verified board.
Topics in this board are rarely looked at by the devs, and even if they are it is unlikely the devs can fix the bugs reported. The reason is that putting bug reports in the required format ensures that the devs have enough information to understand and identify the bug. Thus, without that format it becomes near impossible to replicate many bugs.
To get your report forwarded to the devs put your post in the required format, and send me a PM.
Thank you.
Can you please check and see if this is fixed with the newest version (version 6.3.294583.2937)? Please let us know whether it is fixed or you are still experiencing the problem.
Also, note that all bug reports in the Non-Format section of the forum, which is where this report currently is, are mainly not looked at by the devs. Thus, if the bug you were experiencing is still not fixed please edit your first post so that it is in the correct format (found here, with all required attachments), so I can forward this to the devs and get this problem fixed.
Thank you.
PM sent.

I’m sorry, but as this has been in the Incomplete section for more than a single period I must now move this to Resolved. If you are still experiencing this issue, please create a properly formatted bug report, with all required information, so that this can be forwarded to the devs.
Thank you.
