Initial Update[Resolved-Closed]

I downloaded the free version of CIS on Saturday and have not been able to update in the five days since.
I have a 56k connection which cuts off at 100MB. I have product version 3.11.108364.552 and virus database version 1. Now what???

Currently the AV database is bigger then 100 MB :frowning:

I will try to find time to Shrink the AV Database and upload it somewhere.

I have uploaded the Scanners folder for DataBase 2198

71MB
http://rapidshare.com/files/275285974/scanners.7z

I belive you have to disable D+ to put these files in place. If you need help with this just ask. ;D

Extracted files go in “C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\scanners”

Use this to extract it:

Your welcome, If you have other problems just ask for help

For the problem you sent me in the PM.

All i can think is, using a Download Manager to download the file, it can resume the connection after the download cuts out.

[at] Mods can you guys post a link to the AV DB, I think, since he still cant download it form rapidshare he should use a Download manager for the DB, that way he can pause it.

Download link:

101 MB:
http://download.comodo.com/av/updates311/sigs/bases/BASE_END_USER_v2176.cav

When the download stops, you maybe able to start it with the download manager. (Not sure about this)

Edit: Save it somewhere, disable D+ copy it to c:\program files\comodo\comodo internet security\scanners and save it there as bases.cav, next reboot your system, you should now be up to version 2176.

Okay. I downloaded the 102MB file and now it says that i already have a file in the scanners folder that is named bases.cav.This is probably my last question. now what?

turn off D+ go to c:\program files\comodo\comodo internet security\scanners rename “bases.cav” to “bases.cax” and copy the file downloaded file that has been renamed “bases.cav” to the c:\program files\comodo\comodo internet security\scanners and name it bases.cav If it won´t let you do that boot into safe mode and do it.

note: in “Safe Mode” you will not have to turn off D+ because CIS will not be active

I got it, you guys. O0 Thanks for all the help! ;D

Hi.
Is it possible for you, OmletGuy, to re-post the database files?
For some reason I can’t get either of your links to complete the d/l process. They bot will start but then stop at about 6 Mb completed saying the source file can’t be read. :frowning:

This is what i uploaded.
( 4 more downloads Available ) (I will re upload when it gets to 10)
http://rapidshare.com/files/275285974/scanners.7z

This is the first update of 3.11 downloaded by CIS:
http://download.comodo.com/av/updates311/sigs/bases/BASE_END_USER_v2176.cav

Can you try again?

I think this maybe why some user cant update the AV, its too big of a download. :frowning:

Also Sholix Whats you Connection Type? (DSL, Cable, Dial-up…)
And what broswer are you using to download it? thx

[at]UncleMilty, check the DB version number just to make sure everything is working.

Thank you for the reply. The d/l went without a hiych this time. Was done in under 2 minutes.
I’m on a GSM (G3 I think) connection. And using Firefox 3.something.

After installing your database I was able to use the update feature in CIS. ??? Go figure.
I don’t really understand what the problem was but I certainly ain’t complaining about the results.

Thanks again, and big hugs to ya!

I’ve got 2236 so I’m good to go ;D By the way I think that this is resolved
