I would like know more about how it works and what the diffrent options mean etc.
I found this rull on a gaming topic. But i would like to know what would happen if the Direction = out and Remote port = Any ect. What the diffrent settings mean.
Action = Allow
Protocol = TCP or UDP
Direction = In
Source IP = Any
Remote IP = your IP adress (or “Any” )
Source port = Any
Remote port = add a range from 0 to 65000
The Rull i am looking for is a rull that hids the computer from the internet and thereby protecting it from hacks ect. But were all outgoing info is open to host server ect.
I think i would link to block ingoing trafic and have outgoing trafik oppen for all programs. It think that is what would hide my computer from the internet and still have all programs and games running without any problems.
I think i have understod how the rule system works. And here are my settings. Are they correct/safe? or do they not liv op to my orginal wish. Which was to block in trafic and have totaly open out trafic for me to play games and use my programs whit out haveing to think about changing my firewall settings ect.
But I have one qustion about my block rule. If i play a game like Counter Strike or Warcraft 3 the block setting will not block trafik from the server to wich I’am connected to from sending me informations? And it should be posibal for me now to host Warcraft 3 games were people can join the game. Or are my settings wrong?
I have i masked my IP range so people cant see it but the idear of my settings should be there to be understod.
