Infared Devices

Does CPF block IRDA? Reason I ask is that I use IRDA to connect my phone to my laptop (only to transfer files such as wallpaper / themes) Do I need to create a rule to allow this connection? If so, how?

My guess would be no but I am not sure. Why not try it and see?

The reason I ask is that when I try and connect my Mobile Phone with my laptop using IRDA nothing happens. I’ve checked that Infared is switched on for both devices stick them next to each other lined up so that both IR ports are facing each other and yet nothing happens. Whereas previously it did. I’m just trying to figure out if there is something wrong with my phone or laptop or if it’s Comodo blocking the connection.

hey Eric,

Try switching CPF to ALLOW ALL and try an infrared connection. If it works, and fails again when CPF is switched from ALLOW ALL back to CUSTOM, then the IR connection is using a port or control mechanism that CPF is blocking.

Let us know how you go and if needed I’ll dig further.
