Incremental CBU backup over FTP

Hello.

My setup is as follows: SOURCE → INTERNET → ROUTER (port forward: 21) → freeFTPd / fileZilla: 21

Despite using *.cbu format, incremental backup isn’t working over FTP protocol. Tested with 2 FTP servers - freeFTPd & fileZilla. This appears in log:

“Existing backup will be overwritten because this destination doesn’t support appending incremental / differential information to same backup.”

Which FTP server software will make the destination support incremental backup over FTP?

In fileZilla, I even enabled the “append” option for the account, aside “read” and “write”. Still, nothing.

Thank you.

Can anyone help please? I just wonder what kind of setup / software do I have to have in order to be able to make incremental backups over the internet. Would a network drive mounted over VPN be a solution to this?

Thanks

Yes, it would.

The only way for incremental to work over ftp is to use the macro feature (backup step 3) so each new incremental backup will be written into a new cbu file.

Thanks
