Incompatibility with tcp optimizer and wifi

If i make some modifications with tcp optimizer especially at MTU after i restart the pc the wireless usb adapter have problems like it’s doesn’t installed on the pc.
1)And for resolve that i need to reset tcp optimizer settings
2)i need to uninstall comodo firewall(it’s without the defence+ enabled)
3)i need to re-install comodo firewall
4) but only with comodo and not with zone alarm or outpost firewall if i move the usb wifi adapter the connection it’s lost and i need to unplug and plug the usb cable
If you are interested i have tested that problems with 2 usb adapters with these drivers:
RTL8187L ( REALTEK)
RALING 3070 ( RALINK)
I hope you resolve :‘( I can’t live without comodo firewall on windows based systems :’(

I have several questions for you to try to understand the problem completely and correctly.

Do you have a url where we can download tcp optimizer? On what Windows version are you? How does tcp optimiser determine the MTU?

2)i need to uninstall comodo firewall(it's without the defence+ enabled) 3)i need to re-install comodo firewall
Did try to let Windows repair the connection after the changes?
4) but only with comodo and not with zone alarm or outpost firewall if i move the usb wifi adapter the connection it's lost and i need to unplug and plug the usb cable If you are interested i have tested that problems with 2 usb adapters with these drivers: RTL8187L ( REALTEK) RALING 3070 ( RALINK) I hope you resolve :'( I can't live without comodo firewall on windows based systems :'(
What do you mean with moving the USB wifi adapter? Moving it to another USB port?

Thanks for your’s attention Eric:
1)You can download tcp optimizer direct from his site: http://www.speedguide.net/files/TCPOptimizer.exe
2)Im on Windows 7 32 bit
3)Tcp optimizer determine 1500 but my card support jumbo frames and if i set 9000 MTU that happens or can happen even if i set as his default value 1500 (or if i doing an automatic optimization that changes some windows values)
4)I tried to repair windows connection after the changes but the only way it’s to uninstall-reinstall comodo
5)Moving the usb adapter a very strange thing happens only with comodo i don’t know from what depends but if i psysichically move the usb adapter only of few centimeters ( the cable is still plugged) i need to re-plug the usb cable because windows don’t recognize the adapter).
The only think i suspect it’s something about ‘‘FIREWALL POLICIES RULES’’ because i noticed if after i remove comodo before i re-install again:
Ccleaner ( www.piriform.com) if i do a registry scan i see the entries called FIREWALL POLICIES RULES INVALID to repair.
I don’t know if tcp optimizer can make conflict example doing a modification on a adapter can make instable comodo.

Just to cross reference an erlier thread from hurricane1.

Best wishes

From the information you have given I am not clear whether this is a bug/issue.
or not.

For the moment I will transfer you to help so you can work through this issue with users and mods including Eric and hopefully resolve it. I hope that is OK.

Please ask any mod to move this report back to the bugs forum if it becomes clear that it is a bug/issue.

Those are Windows Firewall rules, Ccleaner doesn’t ‘clean’ CIS rules.
Are you running with Windows Firewall and CIS firewall active at the same time?

And why would you set your USB device to jumbo frames?

Jumbo frames can be used on the local network when switches and other devices also support them. But are of no use when accessing the web.

I tried moving my USB WiFi dongle to another USB port and that worked without a glitch. It has a Ralink chip on it.

It sounds like there may be a broken USB wire (moving the dongle a couple of centimeters it disconnects). Also there seems to be a problem when moving reconnecting the dongle or moving it to another USB port. Can you try the following scenarios to see what happens:

  • Disconnect and reconnect the dongle in the same USB port
  • Disconnect and connect the dongle in another USB port

Can you tell what happens in both scenarios?

Then try the same with Firewall disabled (set slider to disabled).

Now disable D+ using Deactivate Defense+ permanently (Requires a system restart), reboot and try the above two steps again.

Let us know what happens in the above scenarios.
