Okay, I’m a little confused by this issue. Do you mean that you first open a browser, such as IceDragon, by clicking on it through the widget? Then, you try to open the CIS main interface. It’s at this point that the interface will not open, and instead gives you an error message. Is this correct? If not then please let me know what the correct order of events is.

Thank you.

a. I open the file or progam Icedragon or as dragon and closing ;
b . if I try to open the CIS 7 nothing happens ;
c . After reboot the system and check the event log comodo internet security , the following lines appear :

comodo blocking access to its own dll comctl32.dll

This sounds familiar with my issue, when i was unable to open anything in CIS. Buttons were pushed, but nothing happened. Same goes for systray icon. Not a single change was made when I switched setting.

Okay, so if I’m correct, the way to replicate this is to:

  1. Open Ice Dragon Virtualized from the widget.
  2. Close Ice Dragon.
  3. Try to open CIS. However, it will refuse to open.
  4. Reboot the system.
  5. After rebooting the system CIS opens normally.
  6. Checking the logs reveals the issue you reported two posts up.

Is this correct?

Yes, that’s correct.
Comodo dragon and Icedragon are the only programs that utilize fully virtualized, so I can not say with others programs that also happens.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

Thank you for confirming that. I’ve now updated the first post with these detailed steps.

However, before forwarding this to the devs I would like to rule out one possibility. Please reinstall by following the advice I give in this topic and let me know if the issue continues. If it does please also attach a KillSwitch Process List to your first post.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks.

Chiron Sorry to trouble you, but I’ve done it.
I used another system and it was not installed any other security program, then formatted the HD and did a clean install of the operating system windows 7 service pack 1.
The error happened again so I reported the error.
Today it happened again, but this time the CIS blocked access to dll keyscramblerIE
C: \ Program Files \ COMODO \ COMODO Internet Security \ cis.exe Hook C: \ Program Files (x86) \ KeyScrambler \ x64 \ KeyScramblerIE.dll

Please try removing this KeyScramblerIE and see if it works correctly. There must be some sort of a pattern. Was KeyScramblerIE installed for both systems? If not, are there any other programs which are in common?

The previous system had not KeyScrambler installed, the CIS was only 7 and the error happened. Anyway I will uninstall KeyScrambler if the error occurs again I report here. :-TU
Sorry to bother you!

No problem at all. I’m just trying to figure out what may be causing this issue. Without identifying that it may prove very difficult for the devs to replicate, and thus fix, this issue. Let me know what you find.

Thanks.

Did removing KeyScrambler fix this issue?

PM reminder sent.

liosant has sent me a PM letting me know that putting KeyscramblerIE back on the system caused the problem to begin again. Thus, it appears there is an incompatibility between the software and I will forward this as an incompatibility bug.

Thank you very much for your report in standard format, with all information supplied. The care you have taken is much appreciated by Comodo, and will increase the likelihood that this bug can be fixed.

Developers may or may not communicate with you in the forum or by PM/IM, depending on time availability and need. Because you have supplied complete information they may be able to replicate and fix the bug without doing so.

Many thanks again.

The devs have not been able to replicate this. Did you receive a PM or email from Comodo staff?

As this was not fixed during the Beta testing period I will move this bug report to the main Bug Reporting Board.

Please check and see if this is fixed with the newest version (7.0.313494.4115)? Please let us know whether it is fixed or you are still experiencing the problem.

Thank you.

PM sent.

Yes.
The last event related to this incompatibility occurred on 02/28/2014. Was apparently caused by a corrupted installation Cis 7 RC or KeyScrambler, as you had suspected. :-TU

Okay. In that case I will move this to Resolved, and update the tracker. If the problems continue let me know.

Thank you.
