When deploying to multiple clients it seems like a waste that each client then has to download a 100+ mb signature database from the comodo site. Couldn’t that be easily included in the deployment?

If I understand your question correctly, it is. During the deployment process you land on page 3 “Packages” it is here where you can check for the latest definitions (Check for updates) and download the latest version.
