Improve security CPF

Athlon 1600ghz Win XPSP2

I am a novice not used to tinkering with firewalls so I am on the CPF “Set & forget” configuration known as learning mode. Given the many changes one could make in CPF if you had the knowledge I just wonder how secure the Learning Mode is and how “Excellent” it is?

Below is a list of much of my software. I wonder if somebody make some suggestions as to how could make my security even more “belt & braces” without the pop ups or anything else becoming onerous. I am willing to learn but explanations need idiot proofing.

Security

CPF
Avast Home
Winpatrol full
ProcessGuard
GesWall
DropMyRights
Spyware Terminator
Spyware Blaster
Ewido On demand Only

General

MS WorksSuite
Open Office
■■■■ Cleaner
RegCleaner
TuneUp Utilities
Opera Browser & Mail
Firefox
Thunderbird
Izarc
GenieBackup Manager
Diskeeper

Many Thanks for your help

Terry

Hi Terry,

The learning mode of CPF works by when you allow something CPF automatically sets the other components of that application to the same decision you made. With learning mode off, you have to individually allow each component.

Your list of programs looks good and secure, but what about an anti phishing tool if you shop or bank online etc. V-Engine and TrustToolbar are two good Comodo programs if you’re interested.
