The ports are not important to me. I’m more concerned with IPs. Thanks for all the help, and I realize you guys are showing me ways around this problem, but basically I don’t think this firewall is a working solution for me.
I want to list specific IPs an application can talk to.
Comodo doesn’t allow comma-delimited IP lists, so numerous rules must be created.
I want to automatically block further popup requests by the firewall for a specific application after my rule is created.
Comodo doesn’t have this. It’s either all popups off, or be annoyed with popups.
I tried using block filters with exception IPs, but it does not work. The first rule will block the exception IPs from the other rules.
the block rule should work as your servers are excluded from the rule and so the rule cannot be triggered when thunderbird connects to your servers. only the allow or block rule will be triggered. a hierarchy is not required this way.
OH I see what you mean, you would have to put all your servers in 1 allow and 1 block rule to trigger “one or the other”.
Are you sure you cant make your IPs as a range in one rule?
Sorry, I thought your IPs were sequential which would have worked like this in 2 rules. (:SHY)
I cant see any other solution really. You may be able able to achieve this with other firewalls but at the same time you wont be protected from real threats -as well as Comodo.
I hope Comodo adds an option for comma delimited IPs.
