ICQ

Having a slight problem with ICQ and file transfers. A friend and I have been using ICQ and firewalls for a long time now. We never had a problem transferring files until we installed CPF. Messaging still works as usual but we can’t receive a file the other tries to send. Anyone know what needs to be set to allow the file transfer to work.

Thanks.

Hi Cherokee,

Please be informed that we are working on your problem and will update you with the fix.

Meanwhile send us the details of OS with SP in use and with other security softwares installed in the system.

Comodo Support

Hi,
When you install CPF on a system, you can see two default Network rules under “Security->Network Monitor” section:
ALLOW IP TO FROM IP [Any] TO IP [Any] WHERE IPPROTO IS ANY
BLOCK IP IN FROM IP [Any] TO IP [Any] WHERE IPPROTO IS ANY

Due to second rule, if connection is initiated from some other computer to connect to one on which CPF is installed, it will be blocked. This rule protects your system from any online threat.
To resolve your problem, you can either explicitly allow all the IPs which can connect to your system or you can define a trusted zone using “Tasks->Wizards->Add a trusted zone”.

All the allow rules should appear before deny rules, as network rules are read from top to bottom.
Additionally you can visit following two links in forum which discuss P2P stuff :

Please try and let us know if you still see any issue.
