What he said. I’ve been using Comodo Firewall since v2 or 3 (I forget). Now looking for another.

Very sluggishat times, even on an i7 3770K, with Intel 180 GB 520 SSD primary drive, 8 GB 1600Mhz Corsair Vengeance, WIn 8 64/XP Pro 32 dual boot).

Worse, without any pop-up or alert, it allowed some Win32 dropper trojan to install. Only noticed it as CAPSA showed a couple of apparently consumer IPs connected to my PC (fortunatelyPC had only been running for ~30 minutes). Seriously bugged/vulnerable.

There are other reasons, too.

1. I am primarily a mobile BB user (like an incresingly large majority of the global population). Especially if roaming - and up to now I had Comodo 5.12 on both laptop (work) & Netbook (fun) - the AV database downloads are just too big. Cannot they be delta patched?? Downloading the entire DB with every ‘upgrade’ also seems unecessary - you have to connect to the Internet before anything else & Comodo autoupdates immediately anyway. Only a minority of people have a true broadband connection, and that is not only the case in developing countries.

2. The interface of v6 is dreadful. Seems to have been aimed at touch-screen users, like Win 8 (my first task after updating the Win 8 OS install was to install Classic Shell). Putting a touch-screen style interface on a PC is like nailing wheels onto a fish - crippling and cruel; in the first case to the fish, in the second case to the user.

3. Comodo has IMHO taken a wrong turn with this; v6 is bigger, slower, seems more resource-hungry, has a clunky and grotesquely unintuitive interface. Not attractive to me, especially for mobile use.

You can make regular back ups pf the av database over a period of time so re-downloading the entire database is not needed.
