LaserWraith!
Rocks!

Try in www.2wire.com.

Compare the speeds.

:-La

No…
You can’t compare with it.
It’s not accurate.
Because the site(www.2wire.com) you linked tests only the speed for loading Web page.
The web page loading test doesn’t show us real bandwidth.
Also, the test server is located in USA.
Users who from the other countries can’t get an accurate result.
But Speedtest.net gives us real bandwidth result(except uploading test). :-TU

Um…I’m here every day (mostly). ;D

I prefer to ‘do’ it to ganda…but if Melih isn’t listening to my ‘ideas’, then maybe. ;D

Yes I live in australia and they do rip us off with exspencive plans that would be also considered lowspeed by people in the US etc.

http://www.speedtest.net/result/451249333.png

Speed is usually 1.5mbs\256kbps

The australian must do something against those charges.
The policy of your ISP(australia) prevents the growth of IT industry.

Hi Kyle,

You can find rip-offs anywhere in the world ;),

but I am with my provider since ADSL 1.5Mbs unlimited. Then ADSL2+ came without any changes the same modem (Netcom1300) was giving stable 6.5-7Mbs - not a single drop of connection.
Now with the new modem (fully ADSL2+ compatible) it is stable 17Mbs as you can see.
They changed plans (and names) a bit recently but I am still with 25GB for $AU 39.
Currently I don’t need “unlimited” but change of a plan is just one tick away on-line

I am not sure that it is a big rip-off considering stable connection and quite good support especially if you buy modem from them.
You can have a look at their current plans.

Cheers

It ofcourse depends on your location… Forexample you can still get some okay speeds in australia but not in alot of places. on my plan;

15\15gb on\offpeak @ 1.5mbs\256kbps. line rental and homephone included with $10 worth of calls.

$99AU a month. This has been the best plan that I have found, I’m with netspace.

Take this for example…

Hi Kyle,
Sure, it depends on active exchanges near you and other things but TPG’s plans/speed/prices/support are much better compare to others, I think (I tried Optus too in the past).
I posted because TPG operates in Brisbane, so you have this provider “in your list” just in case. It is a matter of checking the availability in your area and current the status of their rollover plans at their website. Another good place to find news is http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum.cfm (I’m sure you know this place)
As for Bigpond :o , I know… and I ran away from Telstra long time ago.
Cheers

I checked my DSL provider and they don’t offer a faster connection…and cable is much more expensive than the DSL.

It can’t be…
How is the cable connection much more expensive than the DSL?
The cable company must be crazy…
My ISP provides me Optical Fiber(100mb/100mb). But it’s not mush more expensive than Cable, DSL.

The cable company (Time Warner Cable :-TD) offers 10mbps for about $60 a month, while the DSL company offers 13mbps for about $40.

But the faster DSL options aren’t available here, and I heard TWC might charge for the amount of bandwidth used.

I just sent another email to my ISP company. 88)

But some good news: I heard that their helpdesk isn’t outsourced anymore! It is in Florida. I hope that means they speak English now.

Maybe they will be getting a call soon. ;D
