How totally pants this is

So, I wouldn’t normally do this but it’s actually beyond belief, this is an excerpt of my experience trying to install the well reviewed free backup programme and consequent use of the geekbuddy help chat room.

Needless to say I will not be using any comodo product ever again.

Not trolling, just if I don’t say, you don’t know and I hope this is monitored by the company.

regards,

Roy

Hi, just installed free backup. Reviews looked good, however having lots of problems.
Latest is that backing up system of 60gb to external hard drive with 300 + gig of space consistently gets an insufficient drive space message telling me to select another path. At the point of uninstalling this. It’s a windows 8.1 machine lenovo thinkpad yoga.

Ok, software doesn’t work, geekbuddy chat mysteriously disconnects as soon as I say I won’t phone, I’ve been disconnected from chat 6 times now, frankly that was the last go before uninstalling.

It’s all pants and I will be posting reviews of my experiences accordingly.

At that point I accepted the inevitable

The interrupted chat session could have been caused by networking issues, that’s possibly why COMODO suggested you call them? Call them if you can, that’s always more effective.

Regarding your problem; you say you’re backing up to a 300GB external drive “with plenty of space”. Is there at least one contiguous area of free space on there 60GB in size? It’s possible that your external disk has become highly fragmented and there isn’t sufficient contiguous free space for the backup (I don’t know whether COMODO backup requires contiguous space, but it’s likely). Have you tried defragging your external drive? That should remove the free space issue (but it might not).

Can you try another external drive? It needs to be at least 60GB in size and it would help if it was empty (or nearly empty) so you know there is enough contiguous space.
