How to use Comodo DNS with CID 38

I managed to set version 38 to work in portable mode, even though it installs otherwise. However, I don’t know how (if possible) to set the Comodo DNS option that was in version 26. Is that possible? I like CID a lot and am looking forward to next release already.

As an FYI, I noticed that version 26 is still the download at

https://icedragon.comodo.com/

Here’s an UPDATE: I saw this URL and it shows how to set up DNS… but those screens do not show when I install CID.
Comodo IceDragon - Download And Install | Web Browser & Internet Solutions So, it seems that setting DNS is supposed to work but the screens that allow specifying this do not appear. Once I specify the directory, the installation begins and, when done, there is a screen showing the option to import or not from Internet Explorer. The URL I mention does specify the correct version, so maybe there is something else I need to get this option? Any advice is welcome.

Thanks for any tip on the DNS issue.
david

Hi dskirk,
The Secure DNS option and portable option are both intended to be added back by version 40 if I am remembering correctly.

You could use Secure DNS on the system until the option returns to CID.

Kind regards.

Hello dskirk,

Just to follow-up to captainsticks reply, see if this will help. Go here for FAQ about Comodo Secure DNS : FAQ – Comodo Secure DNS, DNS FAQ
then go here: Secure DNS Services – No Hardware, Software Required | Internet Security v5.9/5.10
and go to the bottom of the page to get the links to change your DNS settings for your router, Windows XP or Windows 7/Vista.

After inputting the Comodo Secure DNS server IP addresses, check that comodo.securedns.enabled value in about:config is set to true. If the value is set to false, double-click on it to change it to true. See image1 below.

Thanks to both of you for the feedback. I like CID and will wait for release 40 - and I appreciate the tip on setting Comodo DNS as default.

I installed 40.1.1.18 yesterday, but have been unable to find the DNS option. Do I need glasses or is the option not available? Manually changing DNS settings are not an option in my situation.
