Hi,
Is there anyway to make a baremetal recovery of drive c? Is there an environnement of Comodo backup that we could keep in a USB key and if the system crash reboot on the USB key open the Comodo backup environnement and then restore our system from a backup image made on an external drive???
If not, what do you recommand free and compatible with comodo to do this on a windows 7 mini laptop?
Thanks,

Hi
You can use BartPE or WinPE environment.
Comodo BackUp runs well from these environment, just make sure all files from the installation folder are in the same folder with CBU.exe
Thanks
Hi,
Don’t know what is a BartPE or WinPE environnement but is there a way to place that on a USB key? My mini laptop have no cd/dvd readers… Also, is there an easy way to do that?
Thanks,
Hi,
Most backup software came with an iso file to burn on a CD so we can have a bootable CD that will install the backup software environnement… Do you have that kind of file? Do you have this kind of file that could be install on a USB key? Something easy to do 88)
Thanks,

BartPE is a program which is able to make a bootable Windows CD (like Knoppix with Linux). It just uses the RAM.
And everybody having a functional Windows partition can make a bootable Windows CD - you just have to include CBU and you can restore your backups.
Hope I could help you … pls google BartPE - there are several could tutorials.
(I was also looking fpr this solution … )
//edit:
How can I add the CBU.exe to BartPE - what files are required?
Thanks comzine for your suggestion but I was hoping for an easier solution to do a bootable cd/dvd or USB key with the comodo backup environnement :-\
This will be coming in a future version. Hopefully soon.
John
That’s good news ;D
All files from the installation folder.
Thanks
HI all -
If I install CBU into BartPE (or actually UBCD4Win) can I restore from a network drive???
In this case, CBU will be on the UBCD RAM drive and the actual backup will be on another computer on my network.
In the absence of a bootable CBU restore program, this would appear to be a very viable solution - assuming, of course, that we can do this.
Please advise
Hi
Yes, it can.
If network is visible in BartPE, then it will be in Comodo BackUp too.
Thanks
Hi all.
I have the same problems. I have installed the BartPe and in Custom included Comodo backup (beta )
his is on an extyernal disc called E:- On that disc I also have the whole Backup pf C.
When boot from the CD it don’t work. I only got the BartPe and I can also see the Comodo programs
but nothing more So please what to do.
I need the backup urgently
Best regards
Leifl
Hi
What do you mean it didn’t work?
Did it return an error while restoring?
Or did it fail to start properly?
Thanks
