  1. Disable FW, AV, HIPS and Sandbox.
  2. In Command Prompt, type: net stop cmdagent then hit Enter (to stop).
  3. Wait a few seconds and then type: net start cmdagent then hit Enter (to restart).
  4. Re-enable FW, AV, HIPS and Sandbox.

Doesn’t work.

The requested pause or stop is not valid for this service.

Try killing cmdagent through the task manager if it won’t stop. You may have to kill it twice, it sometimes will restart after the first kill.

I just checked net start cmdagent and it works on my system. Be sure you aren’t typing net start cmdagent.exe

Ha, yes, i just can kill it. Thank you.

Glad you got it sorted. Does net start cmdagent restart the agent for you?

It starts automatically after killing.

You sometimes have to kill it twice or more before it “takes”. Be sure you have disabled the sub-components (they protect the agent from termination). I can kill it within 2 attempts (usually). Once it stays terminated, wait a few moments before ordering the command prompt to restart the agent.
